Louise Alston - Director

 

Louise Alston is a filmmaker living in Melbourne, Australia. 

Her first feature film, All My Friends are Leaving Brisbane (2007) won audience awards at the Natfilm festival Copenhagen and London Australian Film Festival. It was nominated for an AFI for best adapted screenplay in 2008. 

Her second feature, Jucy (2010) is a "womantic comedy" inspired by the real life friendship of it's two lead actors. Jucy world premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival 2010. It went on to festival success including screening at the Seattle International Film Festival and the International Women’s Film Festival in Seoul Korea where it won the ITeen award. It was released in Australia and the USA in late 2011. 

In the early 2000′s Louise created and produced comedy series Variety Show at the End of the World and documentary series Brilliant Lives.

She has worked extensively in theatre including directing Sidekicks in a critically acclaimed seasons in Sydney at the Old 505 Theatre 2012, The Adelaide Fringe Festival and the Melbourne International Comedy Festival in 2013. 

Louise is a graduate of AFTRS.

Eva Di Blasio - Producer

 

Eva produced her debut feature film Little Sparrows which received rave reviews on the international festival circuit, winning a number of awards including the 2010 DigiSPAA Spaartan Award for Best Digital Feature Film, WA Screen Award for Outstanding Drama and a nomination for Inside Film’s Independent Spirit Award.

Eva graduated from Curtin University in 2009 with a Bachelor of Arts in Film and Television. In the same year Eva produced and directed the documentary short Taxi which earned a WA Screen Award nomination.

In 2011, Eva worked closely with the Australian Theatre for Young People, co-producing the short films Bat Eyes and Boot for The Voices Project. Bat Eyes screened at Venice Film Festival as one of the top ten finalists in You Tubes Your Film Festival. From 2011-2012 Eva worked as a producer for twodogs.tv and recently graduated from the Australian Film and Television school completing a graduate diploma in producing and screen business.

Eva is the 2012 recipient of AFTRS and Screen Australia LA internship with Village Roadshow and The Gotham Group and currently resides in Los Angeles.

Stephen Vagg - Writer

 

Stephen’s writing career started with sketches for the UQ Law Revue, then graduated to sketches for a group of people who met doing the UQ Law Revue and didn’t want to stop. He began writing plays and scripts which thankfully were never made, but got him accepted into the Australian Film Television Radio School as a token ex-lawyer. Since then he has written for TV, film and theatre, as well as various magazines and journals. He earned an AWGIE nomination for his play Friday Night Drinks, an AFI nomination for his screenplay, All My Friends Are Leaving Brisbane, and a living writing Home and Away for television. He is currently working as supervising script editor for Neighbours in Melbourne.

Nicola Daley - DOP

 

Nicola has been nominated for an AACTA and won numerous ACS awards, including Gold and Silver awards for her short drama work. She received the outstanding cinematography award at the 2011 and 2010 World of Women Film Festival in Sydney and the 2008 Fuji Film Flickerfest Award for Best Cinematography.

In 1999 Nicola decided to escape the cold dark winters of England and make the move to Sydney. She completed her a Master of Arts in Cinematography at AFTRS in 2003. The following year, Nicola collaborated on the Oscar nominated short film 'The Saviour' and then in 2005 shot the winning Tropfest film 'Australian Summer.'  Nicola has shot three feature films, including more recent work on John Winter's, acclaimed directorial debut 'Black and White and Sex'.

Nicola has worked with some of Australia's most renowned documentary makers, including Tom Zubrycki and Anna Broinowski, and has shot in some of the most talked about places on earth including Afghanistan, Iraq and North Korea.

 

Andrew Soo - Editor

 

Andrew has over 15 years of experience working as an editor across a broad range of styles in drama, documentary, commercials and music videos. His passion and commitment in the editing room makes him a valuable asset to directors and producers. He graduated from AFTRS in 2003.

In early 2010 he edited his first feature film “Jucy” (dir. Louise Alston), which screened at the 2010 Toronto Film Festival and the 2010 Brisbane International Film Festival. In 2011 Andrew completed editing his second feature film -  “LBF” directed by Alex Munt, starring Toby Schmitz and Gracie Otto. “LBF” screened at the 2011 South by SouthWest Film Festival in Austin, Texas and at the 2011 Sydney Film Festival. His last feature film “Random 8” (dir. Kathryn Millard) recently won an award in the Feature Film category at the Mexico IFF.

Caitlin Yeo - Composer

 

Caitlin Yeo has composed the music on over 20 TV and cinema documentaries including Bomb Harvest, Ochre and Ink, My America, and Footy Chicks. She has also scored 6 feature films including All My Friends are Leaving Brisbane, Black and White and Sex, and Jucy. The latest feature Caitlin has composed; The Rocket, directed by the talented Kim Mordaunt, swept up three awards at the 63rd Berlinale, including best first feature and is now set to wow audiences at The 2013 Tribeca Film Festival for it’s North American Premiere.

Since graduating from a Graduate Diploma of Screen Composition at AFTRS in 2003, Caitlin has won an APRA Screen Music award (2007 Best Music for a documentary for Bomb Harvest) and received 3 other nominations for the same award in 2008, 2010 and 2012.

In 2011, Caitlin was awarded the APRA Professional Development award, which garnered her a spot at the prestigious ASCAP Film and TV Scoring Workshop in Los Angeles.

Laura Aghajanian - Designer

 

Laura's short film design credits include Leech, Depths, The Misfortune of Others, The Stirers and The Return of Elise. She is a 2012 graduate of the AFTRS where she studied design. 

Adrian Bilinski - Sound Designer

 

Multi-Award Nominated Sound Designer and Lecturer Adrian Bilinski has been involved in the Music and Film industry for over 10 years. Adrian has completed projects across most media including: Music, Video Games, Radio, Theatre and Film, and has a M.A. in Flm and Television form AFTRS. Adrian lives in Sydney, Australia and when he is not plugged into a studio he is lecturing at the JMC Sydney campus. He enjoys long walks on the beach.
